Fish Tale of the Catch: I had the chance to get out on the Potomac for my first shot at some Blues. My buddy told me, it was going to be windy and cold but if I was willing to make the 3 hr. drive he was willing to take me out. I have been waiting all week for this and I wasn't about to let the weather stop me. I left my house about 2:30 am and met up with him around 5:30am at the marina. He told me that a front had moved through and it would be a tough bite. I told him we were going to catch fish anyway. We ran the net a few times and got a few (4) shad. Thank God my buddy always brings some frozen shad to as a backup. We get to our first spot and get all the rods out. within 5 min. I hooked up with my first Blue. We ended up catching 4 Blues in the first 10 min of fishing then it shut off for about 6 hrs. We moved around a bit with no action and we were gettin cold and hungry so we decided to start heading back. We decided to hit one more spot that was pretty close to the launch. we were at our last spot for about 20 min. and my rod starts to jiggle, then bowed over. I grabbed the rod from the holder and I knew it was my PB. After 10 min. of batlle with the fish and the incoming tide I landed my Pb of 37#. He was caught in 50' water on cut shad

Fish Tale of the Catch:I picked up my buddy Tan up around 11:30pm Fri. night and arrived at the dock a little after 2am. After meeting up with my friends Rob and Rose we left the dock and went fishing. We got the lines in the water about 4:00 at our first spot. We had a few hits but no takers. So we moved on to our next spot and just after we got all the rods in the water one of the rods double over. Since Tan has never got a respectable Blue we let him get the first fish. It was only about #12 or so but it was his PB. As he is releasing his fish one of my rods bow over and the drag starts to screem. I pulled the rod out of the rodholder and landed a nice 35lb 8oz Blue cat.

After the bite slowed up at that spot We move to a spot down river a little where the water was a little deeper. After about 30 min or so after dropping the anchor one of my rods gets hit hard. I get ready for him to take it and when he did I cranked on the reel a few times and took the rod out of the holder. The fight was only about 5 min long but intense. The fish was 33 lbs but felt alot heavier cause the current was flowing pretty good. I got him in 45' of water on cut shad.
