Well The River was so low that it only took me around 5 or 8 min to catch the fish.. but it took me 25 min to land him the water being so low the fish beached himself around 20 feet from shore in the shallow mud.. i had to put logs and stumps in the mud / water to get to him with my net and i still couldnt net him so i had to jo knee deep in mud to grab him, il never forget that fish haha

I managed to take a buddy out fishin for his birthday (5/17/08). We got to the water about 7:30 pm. The night started off slow with smaller fish messing with our baits. Around 9:00 pm. we got our first fish. I new it was a small one so I decided to take the first fish. It was a #5 flattie. Then around 10:15 pm. I got a run on one of my rods and told him to take it. After about 5 min. he landed his PB with a #20 fish. At 11:02 pm. my meatstick starts to click very slowly, as I went to check it out it stopped. After about a min. or so I reached down to check and make sure I didn't get snagged up. As soon as I picked up my rod it took off. I engauged the reel and set the hook. That broomstick doubled over and I knew I had my PB on the other end. I told my buddy to put the gloves on and get ready. 5-10 min. later I landed my PB of 44.6 lbs. beating my old PB of 38.4 lbs. I was in shock over the size of this thing. I was relived that I got a fish over #40 because that was my goal this year.

I got off work at 2:30pm and headed to a spot where the night before I had landed numbers of big fish Flats and Channels a 31# flat, a 34# flat and 2 over 20#, which was strange cause the bite had hit a slump a week prior. I caught bait and within 5 minutes was hooking cats! I landed a few decent fish and my buddy showed up he was'nt there for 30 seconds and I hooked up again, this time she was a hog! After 10+ minutes of me getting her close and her stripping drag off my Abu I managed to beach the fish about 20 feet from shore, thats all the closer I could drag her, she was on the bottom with her back sticking out of the water. Without hesitation my buddy jumped in and gave her the MC patented catfish grip and landed her. What a fish I thought for sure I was going to lose her. This is my first 40# fish of this year.

We were out all night from 11pmuntil 7am. Me and a buddy got nothing through the night until 30 min before we had to leave, had all the gear back at our truck, when I had the big run.. My buddy ran to the truck for the net scale and camera and by the time he got back it was just in time to land him... We would have stayed longer but I had to get a friend to the airport.

It was a very chilly night with thick fog on the river.My brother in law and I started fishing an hour or so before dark and he caught the first fish of the night around 10:00.The bite was terrible and we were about to call it a night when my fishing rod almost got ripped into the water without warning.I set the hook and this channel ran line for what seemed like a minute,as I gained line he made two more short runs and the fight was over. Even though we only caught two fish that night I`m glad we stayed,I caught my personal best channel that night.

I took my boat out with a fellow BOC member; channel cats were very active on cut and stink baits. I was trying to target flatheads when Ii had a good run on a cut sunny head. Infact when this fish hit I thought for sure it was a flathead. After getting it to the boat I quickly found out by the looks of it that it was going to be my new personal best Channel catfish at 16.4#
