Fish Tale of the Catch:Fishing late at the spillway for flatties and this one decided he was hungry and the fight was on. Few minutes later I had him to the top and he was done.

Fish Tale of the Catch:I had been to Calaveras a couple of times before with no luck. Ran into Cliff Hill on one trip and he encouraged me to keep trying. Went out on a Saturday morning trip and started drifting. Could not have asked for better conditions,slight wind. Picked up a small channel in the main portion of the lake and kept moving over to the mouth of one of the coves. Just before noon, one rod took a bend toward the water, no question it was a hook up. Set back on it and the fight was on. After just a few minutes the fish came up. Being by myself, it was a challenge to get the net and get it in the boat. Took a couple of photos and attempted to release the fish. She kept rolling belly up and could not revive her.

Fish Tale of the Catch: My wife and I took my daughter to a local park to spend some family time. Well this park has a pond/city lake on it so I took on rod some dip/punch bait and rigged the rod with a looper rig that I modify with a 7/0 Gama octopus circle hook.
